PerfectDigestTM FPI Poultry
All of the PerfectDigestTM FPI Feed Products have incorporated Fish Peptide + Nucleotide Isolates (FPI).
FPI Peptides + Nucleotides are “Natural Growth Catalysts/Stimulants” : they help the animal convert other feed, thus they improve FCR and allow the animal to achieve peak weight gain several days earlier than normal feed regimens.
Unique preparation of FPI at BlueWave results in lower Ash/Salt fraction, as well as less denaturing of the proteins. It also has a more complete amino acid profile. Therefore, the molecular weight profile of the proteins in FPI provide enhanced digestibility.
In poultry, commercial applications and numerous studies in America have shown it to provide 4-8% Yield Increases (combination of weight gain, gain-to-feed and days to harvest).
Fishmeal/Fish Soluble vs. FPI
- If you currently use Fishmeal in your poultry formulations at 4-8% inclusion rates, you can replace 4pts with 1% FPI and still get improved performance. If you have eliminated Fishmeal due to cost, then FPI will be even more beneficial to your chicks.
- Fishmeal consists of denatured, large molecular weight proteins, resulting in them being less effective than the gently produced FPI. Cooker fish solubles are heavily denatured due to heat stress, and often have high biogenic amine levels.
25g of FPI is the Key
- Numerous BlueWave clients have incorporated PerfectDigestTM FPI into their poultry Feed Mixes at various combinations. 25 g of Dry Matter Peptide + Nucleotide inclusion has been achieved in a variety of schedules, sometimes during the first 14 days, other times spread out over a full 28 days. Regardless of the method, the benefits are simply incredible and range between 4-12% Weight Gain per bird after 14 or 28 days, depending on the feed regimen.
- In some situations, FPI has allowed the grower to reduce other costly ingredients in their starter feed formulas and still get improved performance. The inclusion rates for expensive components such as WPI (Whey Protein Isolate), Blood Plasma, Lysine and other amino acid additions can be recalculated on a farm by farm basis.
PerfectDigestTM FPI does NOT impart any fish taste or smell in the poultry meat – it is NOT fishmeal. FPI is functionally different and can be fed up to the final harvest day.
Limits: The economic benefit of FPi will typically peak in the 1.8 - 2.2% Dry Matter inclusion levels and at some point above this level may start to show a negative regression (in actual performance or economic benefit). This is due to the highly bioactive nature of the peptides. FPi is not just protein, it is a bioactive growth stimulant and over stimulation can have a reduced effect.
