Base Protein Products
Our basic grade protein is quite possibly the highest value/most cost effective fish protein available on the market today. This product is suitable for a variety of basic nutrition programs such as bulk deliveries for poorer or mal-nourished populations. It can be consumed at 50-80% lower cost than alternative protein sources such as canned/frozen fish, fresh beef/chicken. Beyond the cost/serving benefit, it is important to realize that Bluewave protein products are Shelf Stable and do not require refrigeration, thus allowing the product to reach any population on earth. The product can be consumed direct or added to other meal components such as breads, soups, drinks, etc.
Products are available in concentrated liquid form or can be spray dried to powdered forms.
With BlueWave's new protein refining process, we are able to use the large scale processing capability to produce powdered fish protein products. These products have effectively eliminated the fat/oil component thus resulting in a product which is easy to store for months at a time, and they do not carry strong fishy tastes when used as ingredients in flour based foods such as breads, soups, tortillas, etc. As well, when producing fish protein for human consumption, the hygienic aspects are critical – by starting our process meeting FDA requirements, and finishing our process with the special sanitary refining – BlueWave is able to produce products which meet human consumption standards.
Bluewave protein isolates can be integrated into the food supply at about 25 cents per 63 gram serving – which covers the complete recommended daily protein intake for a 70kg male adult. The cost efficiency for children is similar, since they can require 2-3 times as much protein per kg of body weight.
